Cabinet minister Sanbor Shullai said that his constituency has become a model for other constituencies in overcoming Covid-19 vaccine reluctance and hoped that the State achieve a hundred per cent vaccine coverage.
Shullai who visited the Laban dispensary yesterday informed that the vaccine coverage under the South Shillong municipal area was at 86 per cent and 95 per cent in the cantonment area. He said people should overcome vaccine hesitancy and Meghalaya should achieve the target and become a model state in the region and Nation as a whole.
He showered praises and lauded efforts of the NDA government at the Centre under for its National Vaccination Drive, which was the largest in the world. Shullai also said that under the dynamic leadership of Conrad Sangma as the Chief Minister, the state was able to overcome the first wave and second wave.
During his visit the minister also thanked the doctors, health workers, district administration, CCMT, dorbar shnongs, village councils, welfare societies, Anganwadi and Asha workers who relentlessly contributed to the achievement of the nation’s 100 crore vaccination drive.
Shullai said that the efforts of the Covid warriors to combat the pandemic cannot and should never be forgotten.
