Boltijoy Ryan Nongsiej returned to Shillong from Sangli, Maharashtra, where he won several Mister India titles and was selected to represent India at an international pageant in Vietnam in June 2024.
Nongsiej, a resident of Shillong, competed in the Global Model India “Mister India” pageant in Sangli, Maharashtra. The pageant was held from December 21 to 25, 2023 where thirty contestants from all over India vied for a number of titles.
Nongsiej won the “Mister Charismatic,” “Mister North-East India 2023,” and “Mister India 2023 Tourism Global” titles and was selected to represent India in an international pageant in Vietnam in June of 2024.
He said, “I have always loved fashion. When I was younger, hearing people talk about the Miss Universe and Miss World winners, I would wonder if there was a platform that allowed males to compete for the title of Mr. India or Mr. International. Eventually, I learned that both Mr. India and Mr. International already existed. When my family would discuss Miss Universe winners like Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, and others, I imagined myself winning like them someday, and how that would please my family.”
“I am always ready to pursue any opportunity which will help me succeed and reach my many goals in life, but foremost, so I can support my mother who has worked so hard her whole life. So, I took this chance to compete in this pageant, and now I have won some titles that are required. I demonstrate talent, physique and poise in front of an audience of more than 10,000, and I have made my family very proud. I would like to thank the organisers of the event and also my family and sponsors who supported me on my journey to making my dream come true,” he added.
Nongsiej is the first Meghalaya boy to represent India internationally and to represent Mister Tourism Global in The King and Queen of Mister and Miss International in association with Global Model India International after five years.
He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from St. Anthony’s College, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Tourism and Travel Management at Martin Luther Christian University in Shillong.
