P. Manroi Scott, a 1988 engineering service officer from Shillong has been promoted an appointed Member (River Management) at the Central Water Commission.
The Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation in an order passed today said three officers, M.K. Srinivas Chairman, GFCC, Patna and Dr. Mukesh Kumar Sinha Chairman, GRMB, Hyderabad including Scott have been promoted to the Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) of the Central Water Engineering (Group ‘A’) Service.
Scott was the Chief Engineer of Brahmaputra and Barak Basin Organisation at Shillong, Meghalaya and Guwahati Assam. He was also Member of the Damodar Valley Corporation, Kolkata, West Bengal.
He has extensive knowledge about Water Resource of the North Eastern Region and India having visited Project Monitoring and Implementation of many Central Schemes.
Scott is perhaps the first from Northeast to be elevated to the top River Organisation post
