The newly appointed Archbishop of Shillong, Most Rev Victor Lyngdoh, will be conferred with the pallium by the Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal, Most Rev Leopoldo Girelli.
The Most Rev Girelli will arrive in Shillong tomorrow and leave on October 16.
The pallium signifies the plenitude of pontifical office and is worn by the Pope and archbishops.
According to the mandate of Pope Francis, the pallium is now to be placed on the metropolitan archbishop in his home province by the papal representative.
The ceremony will be at the Laitumkhrah Cathedral on October 15 at 10:30am. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be a limited number of attendees but those interested can watch the proceedings on the SASCOM YouTube channel.
