A run dedicated to all the frontline workers will be undertaken by residents of Tura and Williamnagar including police commandant of the 2nd battalion on October 2.
The run will commence from the office of the Tura Deputy Commissioner’s office to Williamnagar, which is about 40 kms.
The runners-Steve Rynjah (Commandant, 2nd Battalion, Goeragre) Chimpu M. Sangma (Tura), Daniel M. Sangma (Tura), Silrak W. Sangma (Williamnagar) and Silnang N. Sangma (Tura) have decided to make the run meaningful by dedicating for a cause and to improve the lives of others.
“The sense of achievement from finishing the event when running for a cause also gives another level of effort to the challenge. Somebody’s sport of running can be a wonderful gift to fellow human beings in this way. Therefore, this run is dedicated to express gratitude to all the frontline workers – Covid heroes and warriors to create awareness in the area,” they said in a statement.
