A passenger in an autorickshaw escaped a collision with another vehicle with only minor injuries in an accident today afternoon in Nongpoh.
The driver of the auto was unharmed.
The auto (ML 10 A 8361) was being driving by Starling Dohling (43) of Mawdiangum who was on his way back to that village with a passenger, Subas Maring (26).
On reaching the Bethany Outreach Hospital junction, the three-wheeler was rammed by an Assam-registered Volkswagen (AS 01 FF 5590), which was being driven by one Kautav K Kalita (27), who was on his way from Guwahati to Shillong.
Maring was taken to hospital and was later released after receiving first aid.
