Three passengers travelling in a local taxi (ML 05L 1483) sustained injuries following a collision with a Tata Sumo passenger vehicle (ML 06A 8396) today evening.
The accident occurred on the Shillong Bypass within the jurisdiction of Umroi Nongrah village, Ri Bhoi.
At around 4:30pm, the local taxi, which was traveling from Bhoirymbong to Umiam, collided with the Tata Sumo, which was heading to Bhoirymbong.
According to passengers of the Sumo, the driver of their vehicle attempted to avoid the taxi as much as possible but they suspected that the taxi driver had lost control of his vehicle.
The front of the taxi was wrecked in the crash and the injured passengers were rushed to Bhoirymbong Community Health Centre for medical attention.
