Ri-Bhoi overtook East Khasi Hills as the district with the highest number of active Covid-19 cases in Meghalaya today.
Ri-Bhoi now has 273 active cases of the disease compared to East Khasi Hills’ 263. Although East Khasi Hills has seen 157 new infections in the first six days of this month, which is more than Ri-Bhoi’s 114, it has recorded 330 recoveries compared to the latter’s 34.
There were 86 new infections reported today in the state, compared to 91 recoveries and zero fatalities.
Of the new cases East Garo Hills accounted for 25, East Khasi Hills 21, Ri-Bhoi 13, West Garo Hills 10, East Jaiñtia Hills six, West Jaiñtia Hills five, South West Garo Hills four and South Garo Hills two.
Of the recoveries East Khasi Hills accounted for 70, West Garo Hills eight, West Jaiñtia Hills seven, East Jaiñtia Hills four, East Garo Hills one and Ri-Bhoi one.
There are now 984 active cases in Meghalaya out of a total of 9,979 Covid infections. Recoveries stand at 8,904 and fatalities 91.
