Rangkynsai Cricket Club lifted the T20 Maitshaphrang Khasi League Cricket Tournament 2021-2022 after defeating Lumshyiap CC by three wickets during the finals of the match held at the Polo grounds today.
Earlier, Lumshyiap CC won the toss and elected to bat and scored 87/10 in 19.2 overs with batsman Dapborlang who scored 20 runs off 21 balls. Morningstar Khongwir bowled 4 overs and gave 19 runs and took 3 wickets while Deibormi Rangad bowled 4 overs and gave 10 runs and took 2 wickets.
In reply Rangkynsai CC scored 88/7 in 18.4 overs with batsman, Raja Khongwir withstanding to the end scoring 26 runs off 30 balls. He was declared Man of the Match.
Promising Players were given to Charm Marbaniang of Rangkynsai for U-19 was Donkupar Nongkynrih of Occult Salesian Youth under the U-23 category and Klostarding Lyngdoh of Lumshyiap CC was adjudged Man of the Series.
The tournament was organised by the Maitshaphrang Khasi League Cricket Committee of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) with the support of the Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA), which began on December 2, 2021.
Altogether 32 cricket teams took part in the tournament.
