Shillong, Oct 13: The Meghalaya Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Schools Association (MSSASA), led by its president Aristotle Rymbai, met with Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma to discuss the state government’s proposal to take over SSA schools and implement a payment structure for SSA teachers.
According to Rymbai, the meeting was positive and a follow-up meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, to be chaired by the CM, in the presence of the Education Minister and officials from the Education Department.
Rymbai stated that the CM informed the teachers that the paperwork regarding the takeover of SSA schools and pay structure is at an advanced stage and MSSASA will await the outcome of the Thursday meeting, with the association hopeful for a resolution to the long-pending issues affecting SSA teachers and schools.
