Thousands of PHE workers have demanded release of their pending dues before Christmas.
The Mawphlang PHE Workers’ Union (MPWU), a trade union of casual workers and work charge staff, muster roll said the department has not paid their wages since October.
The union leaders informed that they had sent a letter on November 22 to the Chief Engineer of both the divisions under Mawphlang, including the minister, the deputy secretary, and the commissioner secretary but to date, they have received only the wages till September.
“We urged the department to release our pending wages including the Christmas advance payment like usual including the BDA of the workers,” the union added.
The union said it is hopeful that the assurance made by the minister to release the wages before Christmas materialises soon.
