A patient undergoing treatment at Nongpoh Civil Hospital experienced severe bleeding due to the allegedly incorrect insertion of a drip.
The incident occurred at around 3am today after repeated requests by the patient’s attendant for assistance from the nurse on duty were allegedly ignored. This led to a deterioration in the patient’s condition.
The matter was then taken up with a pressure group and when its members arrived, they were able to raise the issue with the medical superintendent. The pressure group has sought for strict action against the nurse.
