Shillong, May 27: Taekwondo practitioners brought honour for Meghalaya through their excellent performances in the 12th Open National Taekwondo Championship, which was held in Delhi at the Talkatora Stadium and which was organised by the Delhi Taekwondo Association.
The Meghalaya Taekwondo Association sent a contingent of 25 athletes, and the acting president of the MTA, Osmond T Sangma, won a gold medal in the U-60 years individual Poomsae.
There were also silver medallists in the form of Cheweasha Momin, Lastmania T Sangma and Tengsime M Sangma, who were second in senior female group Poomsae.
Derimia Sangma, Crownbil B Marak and Gamgam Bokjra Momin were bronze medallists in the U-30 male group Poomsae.
Annievia M Sangma and Agital K Sangma were also recognised for their performance in cadet pair Poomsae.
