In a call to safeguard the future of the youth, Nongstoin College hosted a lecture entitled ‘Say No to Narcotics and Sports Performance-Enhancing Drugs’.
Parag Chaturvedi, Commandant of SHQ SSB in Bezpara (Assam), addressed students and highlighted the escalating crisis of drug abuse and its devastating consequences.
He pointed out the severe consequences of drug abuse, which can lead to serious physical ailments, long-term mental health disorders, economic hardship and social alienation.
In the audience were 164 students from Nongstoin College and St Francis College.
Chaturvedi and the other speakers encouraged the youth to engage in positive activities, such as exercising, eating nutritious foods, pursuing creative hobbies and building meaningful social connections. For those struggling with addiction, they strongly advocated seeking professional help through rehabilitation programmes and support groups.
