Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma today said the National Education Policy was rolled out in the State and asserted, “Nobody on earth will say no to NEP.”
“The NEP has already been implemented and nobody on earth will say no to it. This policy came out after a long discussion and research to push the education system of the country at par with the global and international standards,” he said.
On the debate over the absence of infrastructure he said, “We have the PM-USHA scheme and an agreement with the State government has been completed. We are certain that the Government of India will support us especially in terms of infrastructure through this scheme.”
He said that foreseeing all the challenges the government has also created about 600 posts in colleges to see the success implementation of the NEP.
Stating that the future and interest of the students should not be compromised and the teachers understand this, he however said, the management has the authority to deal with teachers who boycott classes.
On the textbook review committee, he said the government will meet soon to discuss on the standards of the curriculum that will best suit the students.
He also said that the government is on the job to see that CUET centres are set up in the State.
