Anonymous candidates have made an allegation that the daughter of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) was the one who had raised objections to the disclosure of the cut marks obtained at the MCS preliminary examination.
The Khasi Students Union (KSU) today shared a letter reportedly sent by a group of candidates who cleared the prelims and whose name appeared in the original list of 580 candidates.
According to the letter, the daughter of the MPSC secretary named A. Marak and six others had signed the application letter to object to the union’s demand for disclosure of marks.
“We want to tell you also that the Secretary ‘s daughter has been selected in the LDA post conducted by the MPSC which the result was declared in the month of July, this shows a deep-rooted nepotism in the selection process of the MPSC,” the letter reads.
While appreciating the KSU for the steps it has taken to put a check on the irregularities in the selection of the MCS, the anonymous candidates has urged the union to take necessary action to ensure transparency in the selection of civil servants at present and in the future.
“We hope that you will continue to fight and put an end to all this form of nepotism. Your fight will be a beacon of hope for us, the aspirants who have no connection with anyone who works in the MPSC but deeply wants to be a civil servant to serve the State. We request you to treat this letter as a very important one. Through this letter, your union will expose more murky matters within the MPSC,” they said.
