The office of the South West Khasi Hills District School Education Officer has directed all schools not to conduct morning assembly or any outdoor activities for students due to rise in temperature, especially in the border areas.
The precautionary measures listed by the office today to all school heads is to ensure that all students stay hydrated by drinking water regularly and affected students should be taken to any nearest health facility.
The directive was issued after the education cell of the Khasi Student Union (KSU) in a letter to the Sub Divisional of School Education Officer expressed concern on the rise of temperature which is harmful for students.
