A one-day city consultation with stakeholders working in the health and urban management sectors was organised by NITI Aayog jointly with USAID, PSI- SAMAGRA and office of the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner at Pinewood Hotel today.
The consultation aims to discuss the bottlenecks and opportunities in the governance of urban health systems.
The topics for the day long programme included; Meghalaya: Urban Health and Governance, Shillong City: Urban Health Challenges and Expectations, participatory deliberation on Urban Health Challenges of Shillong and Strengthening Governance of Urban Health Systems Suggestions for improvements. The facilitators are from NITI Aayog and PSI.
The programme was attended by health secretary R. M. Kurbah, East Khasi Hills deputy commissioner Isawanda Laloo, health officials and representatives from different government departments among others.
