Ri-Bhoi continues to bear the brunt of bad weather, with several homes damaged in a recent storm.
Brisk winds also damaged a giant pandal being constructed for the general assembly of the Presbyterian Church of India, scheduled for this weekend at Umroi Madan.
At around midnight on Tuesday, devastating winds damaged homes in Umdohbyrthih, Umroi Madan, Umroi Laban Saro, Umroi Jaiawpdeng and Umroi Nongrah.
The dorbar shnongs of the five villages have unanimously decided to repair the pandal so the assembly can go ahead as planned. Help from the Catholic Church and Church of Christ has also been pledged.
