NEHU Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla has said that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will help students meet the ever evolving demand of job market by engaging them in many skills of interest.
Speaking at a national level faculty development programme (FDP) held at the Jaintia Eastern College in Khliehriat, Shukla said NEP will help students to engage in not only enhances the quality of education but to analyse and evaluate every aspects of student’s development.
He highlighted on the implementation of NEP and stressed on the significant role played by teachers in inculcating and disseminating new knowledge to the students as also in transforming the mindset of the students.
Pointing out that the policy will help in transforming the educational system in India with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), he urged teachers not to fully depend on technology but to use it as a tool for evaluation of the overall performance of students and for improving their teaching techniques.
The programme held on the topic, ‘National Education Policy (NEP) 2020:Outcome Based Education and Essential AI tools for Teachers’ was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Jaintia Eastern College in collaboration with the Centre for Distance Education, NEHU.

P Sahu, teachers, students and many others were present.
Technical sessions by experts on the topics ‘Key Components of Outcome Based Education’, Outcome Based Education and Essential AI Tools for Teachers’, Assessment and Accreditation Reform: Aligning Institutional Goals with NEP 2020’ and ‘Learning Outcomes’ were delivered during the one-day programme.
