NEIGRIHMS has signed an agreement with the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) for the hospital to officially extend the facility to eligible patients.
The memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed on Tuesday. The scheme will be fully operational at the hospital by April
In a press release, Dr Nalin Mehta, NEIGRIHMS Director, expressed his enthusiasm over the agreement, stating that the inclusion of the hospital in the CGHS network will not only provide access to medical care to a large number of patients in the North East but also be a step in the right direction to provide enhanced quality healthcare services to beneficiaries of the region, thereby making a positive impact on the overall healthcare landscape.
Dr Animesh Mishra, Medical Superintendent of NEIGRIHMS, described the moment as a historic one that has been years in the making. He mentioned that this milestone is the result of two decades of persistent efforts to integrate NEIGRIHMS with CGHS, which will now benefit numerous individuals who rely on the CGHS for medical support.
Dr Paokhomang Lengen, Additional Director of CGHS Shillong, highlighted the key benefits of this development. He explained that the empanelment will allow CGHS beneficiaries, including sitting and ex-members of Parliament, freedom fighters, serving CGHS/DGHS/Ministry of Health & Family Welfare employees, central government employees and other categories of CGHS cardholders to avail cashless medical services at NEIGRIHMS.
