NEIGRIHMS observed Hindi Pakhwada (Fortnight) from September 17 to 30 with a wide variety of literary and cultural activities to promote the language.
Hindi dictation, singing and poetry recitation competitions and comic writing were organised to mark the 14-day event.
Hindi Pakhwada emphasised the routine use of Hindi in daily official work as per central government guidelines.
Padma Shri awardee and retired Hindi teacher Silbi Passah was the chief guest on the closing day. She explained the importance of Hindi and stressed on the need to learn Hindi not just for the advantage of knowing an additional language but also because of its extensive use in government communications.
Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners of various competitions.
