The Department of Radiology & Imaging at NEIGRIHMS organised a CME (Continuing Medical Education)-cum-workshop on ‘Image Guided Tissue SamplingTechniques – Principles and Recent Advances’ on Saturday.
More than 30 radiologists and resident doctors from all over Meghalaya attended the CME. The live workshop was conducted by Dr Binoy Kumar Choudhury, senior consultant from the State Cancer Institute, GMCH, Guwahati and a world-renowned specialist in CT and Ultrasonography-guided biopsies.
Dr Nalin Mehta, Director of NEIGRIHMS, said, “Given the cancer burden of Meghalaya and the North East at large, NEIGRIHMS with its Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) has already taken the initiative in making sure that patients don’t have to travel far and wide for receiving a tissue diagnosis”.
Dr C Daniala, Head of the Department of Radiology & Imaging, said, “We are a growing community of radiologists in Meghalaya and need to be united in certain practices pertaining to patient care. NEIGRIHMS already has an established Radiation Oncology and Surgical Oncology Departments that need support from trained Oncoradiologists.”
