The central government’s Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying will organise a conclave on the theme ‘Dialogue For Holistic Development of Livestock Sector in North East India’ here on January 23-24.
The conclave will be inaugurated by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh. The event will also be graced by Union Minister of State SP Singh Baghel and Union Minister of State George Kurian. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and ministers from Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development Departments from the North East states will also be participating in the conclave.
On this occasion, several projects will be dedicated to the people of the North East and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) will be signed with the industry for promoting investment in the regional livestock sector.
The objective of the livestock conclave is to bring together the key stakeholders to discuss strategies for the holistic development of the livestock and poultry sector in the North East states. The conclave also aims to assess the present status and challenges, explore opportunities for growth and development through value chain strengthening, technological interventions and policy support.
