Shillong, May 5: The NCC North Eastern Region celebrated its annual awards for the training year 2025-26 today, at Rhino Auditorium in Shillong Cantonment.
The event is dedicated to recognising outstanding accomplishments and exemplary performances from cadets, Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
The awards not only honour individual and institutional achievements but also promote excellence within the NCC community. This fosters a spirit of healthy competition, encouraging members to strive for higher standards in various activities.
Recognitions were awarded across various categories, including the Best Cadets, Best ANOs, Best Educational Institutions, Best Girls Cadet Instructor (GCI), and Best NCC Units.
Among the notable awardees, Senior Under Officer Tushar Dey was celebrated as the best cadet from the senior division, while Leading Cadet Neihoiling Lhouvum was recognized from the senior wing. Other accolades included:

Best ANO (Female): 2nd Officer R. Vanlaltanpuii
Best School for NCC: St. Francis De Sales School, Guwahati
Best College for NCC: Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College
Best Technical College for NCC: National Institute of Technology, Agartala
Best NCC Unit: 4 Assam Battalion NCC, Sribhumi
Best Girls Cadet Instructor (GCI): Girl Cadet Instructor Sulfi
Group commanders from all nine NCC group headquarters across the North Eastern Region, alongside officers from various NCC units attended the ceremony.
State Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla, Major General Anurag Vij, Additional Director General of the NCC Directorate North Eastern Region were present on the occasion as guests.
