National Cadets Corps members of the 61st Meghalaya Girls Battalion, under the NCC Group Headquarters Shillong, organised a tree plantation drive as part of the ‘Save Earth’ campaign under the G-20 Presidency on Wednesday.
The aim of the drive was to create awareness regarding the need to preserve and conserve the environment and to tackle the challenges of climate change by setting an example to locals. ANOs and cadets of Seven Huts Higher Secondary School in Mawlai and Army Public School in Happy Valley took part in the drive.
A total of 100 tree saplings were planted.
