The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heavy rain will lash Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh between June 29 and July 1.
The IMD has also issued orange and yellow alerts in various parts of the country as monsoon has hit almost the entire of India.
Meanwhile, Mawsynram, since yesterday till today morning, recorded the heaviest rainfall of 153.0 mm. It was followed by Mawkyrwat (93 mm), Sohra (86.6 mm), Khliehriat (74.4 mm), Mawphlang (64.6 mm) and Pynursla (62.2 mm).
