Leader of the Opposition Dr Mukul Sangma today conducted a site inspection of the under-construction international football stadium at Ampati and expressed serious concerns over leakage issues and quality of work.
During his visit, Dr. Sangma held detailed discussions with Sports Department officers and the Project Management Consultant. He reviewed the stadium’s seating arrangements, inspected the VIP seats, and examined the ongoing construction work.
He questioned the quality of work and called for immediate corrective measures to ensure the stadium meets international standards. Sports Department officers assured that the issues would be addressed within the stipulated time.
Dr. Sangma also emphasized the need for proper monitoring and accountability, particularly for high-investment infrastructure projects aimed at promoting sports in the region.
