The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Lamjingshai Manbha Foundation, Shillong distributed essential food commodities/dry rations to the marginalized sections of the society at Shillong Law College yesterday.
The programme was part of Pan India Awareness & Outreach Programme as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
During the distribution, T.T.M. Sangma (MJS), Officer on Special duty, MSLSA informed the beneficiaries that the distribution was organized in line with the directions of the NALSA regarding the Pan India Awareness and in furtherance of the NALSA (Effective Implementation of Poverty Alleviation Schemes) Scheme, 2015 to ensure access to basic rights and benefits [like health (including mental health), housing, nutrition, employment, pension, maternal care, child mortality, access to water, education, sanitation, subsidies and basic services, social exclusion, discrimination, etc. and to ensure that none are not deprived of their basic rights irrespective of any background and that equal opportunity for access to justice are accessible to all.
He also lauded the benefactors of the programme Arki Nongrum, Infinite Solutions, S. Roy, B.D. Roy, K. Mordani, A. Dudhoria, V. Banka, H. Morjani and R. Kandoi.
