The Department of Information Technology at Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) wrapped up its seventh annual technical fest, METANOIA 2024.
Sponsored by TechWeb Shillong and MOONTON and fueled by NEURON ESPORTS, the three-day event provided a platform for students to “flaunt their technical prowess, unleash their creativity and nurture a collaborative ethos,” a press release said today.
METANOIA 2024 aimed to offer students a place to demonstrate their technical acumen across various realms of Information Technology.
More than 300 participants, drawn from Meghalaya and other states in the North East took part in the online and offline events.
Marquee events such as BGMI (BattleGrounds Mobile India) and Mobile Legends beckoned participants from urban enclaves to rural hinterlands, underscoring the ubiquitous allure of gaming culture among Gen Z.
A particular highlight was the Innovation Showcase, spotlighting groundbreaking projects like ELiGen – a miniature app development platform on Serverless Technology crafted by TechSoul, Shillong; a pioneering chatbot innovation from Assam Don Bosco University; and the Mini Smart Gate from MLCU’s Department of IT.
