The School of Language and Literary Studies at Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), in collaboration with the Department of Music, facilitated the sustainable development goals (SDG) programme for fifth semester undergraduate students today.
The two-week session concluded with a performance entitled ‘Sustainable Development Goals through Language and the Arts’ whereby the language promotion goals were fused with Western and indigenous music. A number of activities were conducted over the past week that culminated in the performance.
The activities were slogan writing, a musical rhythm of unity, poetry recitation, story-telling, singing, and chanting. The objective of the programme was to sensitise the students on the importance of the role of language, literature and music in meeting the SDGs, an MLCU press release stated today.
