The residence of Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has become the latest target as unknown miscreants lobbed a petrol bomb today.
This comes a day after a police vehicle escorting (Retd) Maj Gen RK Jha, NEEPCO Director (Personnel) was attacked at Demthring while on his way to his residence at Laitkor.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Rituraj Ravi who visited the Deputy Chief Minister’s residence at Nongmensong said a petrol bomb landed on the balcony without causing any injuries.
Dhar has filed an FIR and police are investigating into the incident.
Ravi said security has been beefed up at the residence of the Deputy Chief Minister. He also said section 144 CrPC is in place that prohibits sale of loose petrol.
“We urge all peace loving citizens of the state not to take law into their own hands and cooperate in the investigations going on,” the SP said.
