A further five new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Meghalaya today. There were also 16 recoveries and no new fatalities.
Three of the new infections were reported in East Khasi Hills and two in Ri-Bhoi. Both Ri-Bhoi cases were among high-risk contacts. One in East Khasi Hills was also a high-risk contact, while there was one each in Nongthymmai and Madanrting clusters.
Ten of the recoveries were in East Jaintia Hills’ Goldstone Cement cluster. Four people also recovered from the coronavirus in East Khasi Hills and one each in West Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi.
In all, Meghalaya has had 13,732 Covid-19 cases, of which 111 are active, 13,475 have recovered and 146 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has risen to 98.13 percent. The fatality rate is 1.06 percent.
