Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) in Meghalaya took part in the campaign launched by the Prime Minister, #Plant4Mother, whereby tree saplings are planted for Mother Earth and mums in general.
The national aim is to plant 80 crore saplings across the country by September and 140 crore saplings by March 2025.
KVKs in West Garo Hills, South Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi all participated in planting saplings today.
In WGH it was mango saplings, in Ri-Bhoi 2,000 Khasi mandarin saplings and 1,000 of Assam lemon were planted and in South Garo Hills jackfruit and Indian gooseberry (aonla).
