Mawkynrew MLA Banteidor Lyngdoh has expressed pride that youths of the area are not only good in studies but also in other spheres of life.
Lyngdoh was speaking as the chief guest recently at the felicitation ceremony of students of Church of God Secondary School who excelled in this year’s Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination.
The Mawkynrew legislator also urged the students to work hard.
On this occasion, the MLA also extended financial assistance to the school in the form of a work order of Rs. 10 lakh to repair the school under the Special Rural Works Programme (SRWP).
He also said that if infrastructures are good in schools students are willing to stay in school and work hard in their studies.
While pointing out that Nongjrong is one of the places in the state which attracts tourists, Lyngdoh said that it is important that development has to come to the area and therefore there is a need from everyone to join hands in this endeavour.
