The union said that the non-completion of the medical college till date since its foundation in 2017 at Reid Chest Hospital, Mawbah by the then state government, which was subsequently shifted to another site located at Umsawli, New Shillong is disheartening and shows the lack of commitment on the part of the government.
Urging the minister to take swift decision to complete the medical college, KSU education cell chairman, Raymond Kharjana in a memorandum told the minister that they had time and again repeatedly expressed its feeling of dejection and dismay over the slow and sluggish effort to complete the college.
Kharjana also expressed concern that the Kolkata based firm, Kali Pradip Choudhuri (KPC) responsible for the development of the Medical College possess a tainted image in tax evasion in and outside the country.
