The Hynñiewtrep Border Disputes Redressal Forum (HBDRF) today met Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) Chief Executive Member Thombor Shiwat and demanded rectifications of the proposals made by the delimitation committee regarding various constituencies under JHADC located close to the border with Assam.
The HBDRF delegation led by its chairman C Sungoh also submitted a memorandum seeking the rectifications in the delimitation proposals.
The forum demanded that Rtiang Sanphaw village which is located close to the Assam border should be included under Mynsngad – Khanduli constituency.
It also said Lakaroi Pnar village under Barato – Mukroh constituency should be renamed as Lakaroi in order not to create any communal friction among Pnars and Karbis living in the village.
Further, the forum said that Tahpat Pnar village located near Lapangap should be renamed as Tahpat.
It also urged for inclusion of Mowjem Pyllun village under Sahsniang – Mowkaiaw constituency.
