Information and Public Relations Minister James K Sangma inaugurated the DIPR’s Fixed Audio System here today. The programme was attended by Secretary of Information & Public Relations Matsiewdor War Nongbri and other senior officials of the Department.
Sangma said that the Covid-19 pandemic has taught everyone the importance of having credible and timely information. The Fixed Audio System will strengthen the mechanism of delivering quick and timely information to the public regarding government orders, policies, subsidies, immunization drives, health camps and other welfare schemes.
The minister also expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma for sanctioning the budget for the project
As part of the project, 21 internet protocol speakers have been installed at strategic locations around the state capital. The total cost was close to Rs 1.6 crore.
