‘India Reads Movement’ to inculcate and promote reading was launched today at a function held at the Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT).
The programme was organised by the Department of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Sankardev College in collaboration with ELTAI (English Language Teachers’ Association of India), Meghalaya Chapter and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan-SEMAM.
Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma Adviser to the Education Department Himalaya M Shangpliang, DERT Director R.S Manners, principals of colleges and schools, faculty from NEHU, MLCU, directors of different universities and faculty and students were present at the launch.
A book titled ‘On Communicating’ authored by ELTAI president and MLCU Vice Chancellor, Prof. T.K Kharbamon was also released on the occasion.
