UDP candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Shillong seat Robertjune Kharjahrin today said that he is the youngest among all the contestants who are in the fray.
Speaking at a campaign meeting in Mawkyrwat, Kharjahrin said that he was fortunate to represent two regional parties of the State – UDP and HSPDP in the election despite these two parties having several qualified persons to contest.
Kharjahrin said that although he came from a poor economic background, he has already familiarised himself with public service during his stint as a leader of the HYC.
“Politics is nothing new to me since I know about the issues affecting the State. Therefore, I feel that I am ready to serve the people of our State by representing them in parliament,” he said.
Kharjahrin also said that his main election plank was for clean governance, accountability and transparency in the implementation of various developmental schemes for the people.
