The 12th batch of the one-year full-time residential postgraduate programme for executives (PGPEX) was inaugurated with the commencement ceremony held at the IIM, Shillong here today.
The batch comprises of students from 15 different states representing various sectors including government, private sector, PSU, banks, and start-ups.
The PGPEX program is designed to offer a global curriculum aligned with cutting-edge insights. It mirrors top-tier international standards. The program includes foundational and functional courses, cross-functional courses, workshops, innovation camps, and participant electives, providing a holistic learning experience tailored to meet the demands of the transnational business landscape, a press release from the institution said.
Gracing the occasion as chief guest was CHRO of Citibank, Aditya Mittal, who emphasised the unparalleled opportunities available in India’s burgeoning business landscape, driven by technological advancements and innovation.
He highlighted the importance of building deep relationships during the program, advising participants to nurture 3-5 lifelong connections. He underscored the significance of tenacity, perseverance, and the ability to adapt to change as key attributes, for success in today’s dynamic world.
Director General of Police, Lajja Ram Bishnoi grace the occasion as the guest of honour and enlightened the participants about the rich culture, traditions, and tourism spots in Meghalaya.
He shared insights into the state’s unique heritage and encouraged the students to explore and embrace the cultural diversity of Meghalaya during their time at IIM Shillong.
IIM Shillong Director, Prof. D.P. Goyal welcomed the participants of the batch. Addressing the excitement and challenges faced by the participants transitioning from industry to academia after years of professional experience, he underscored the participant-centered learning approach at the institute, where sessions are interactive and focused on diverse peer learning, corporate insights, and global perspectives.
He emphasised that success depends on their level of engagement and commitment to learning.
