The Hynñiewtrep Youths Council (HYC) today met education officials to demand the postponement of selection tests for Class 10 students who will appear for their SSLC examination in 2022.
The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) and District School Education Officer have issued notifications directing schools to conduct the selection tests this month.
The HYC said that this sudden direction has affected the students because schools have only just reopened amid the pandemic and it will not be easy for the students to cover the syllabus, especially in subjects like mathematics and science.
The HYC has demanded that the students should be given two months’ for their selection test.
