Chairperson of the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC) Justice T. Vaiphei today paid a courtesy visit to Governor C.H. Vijayashankar at Raj Bhavan.
During the meeting, they discussed various human rights issues affecting the state, with a particular focus on protecting the rights of vulnerable groups and ensuring that justice is accessible to all.
Justice Vaiphei briefed the Governor on the recent activities of the commission as well as the measures being taken to address human rights concerns in Meghalaya.
The Governor appreciated the efforts of the MHRC in upholding human dignity and protecting the rights of citizens. He assured the chairperson of his full support in strengthening the commission’s work to ensure the well-being of the people of the state.
