Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek inaugurated the new services at Reid Provincial Chest Hospital here today.
In his address, Hek lauded the staff of the hospital for their work and expressed happiness that nine new services were implemented in the hospital and the revenue for procuring new technologies was generated from the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) without depending on the government for financial aid.
The hospital acted as a Corona Care Centre when the Covid-19 pandemic was at its height in the state last year. The minister also laid emphasis on the efforts of the doctors and staff in creating a positive environment for the patients.
The services that were inaugurated today included units for tuberculosis, a state of the art X-ray department, renovated wards, CCTV monitoring system, hospital management software system, bronchoscopy centre, etc.
Awards were also presented to staff for their dedicated service in fighting Covid-19.
