A resident of the Harijan Colony at Them Ïew Mawlong, Lakhan Singh, filed a complaint with police today stating that he had been grievously assaulted by several miscreants last night.
Singh, who has represented Meghalaya in domestic cricket as a fast bowler, said that he was on his way to Jhalupara from his residence at around 9:20pm by two-wheeler when he was told to stop by a man who overtook him in a car near Anjalee Cinema.
In the FIR, he identified the car’s licence plate as ML 05 AA 0381. Several people then came out of the car and assaulted him, including by striking him in the face, and also threatened him with dire consequences.
