Shillong, Oct 9: The North-East Centre for Community Impact and Engagement (NECCIE), the community engagement centre of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong, in collaboration with Mission Nethralaya organised a free eye camp at the Mawdiangdiang Dorbar office.
The camp, held yesterday, was aimed to promote community well-being and improve access to quality healthcare services in the region.
A total of 94 participants, ranging in age from four to 84 years, availed the services provided at the camp. Among the beneficiaries were students from Quiditto Lower Primary School, along with residents of Mawdiangdiang and the neighbouring locality of Mawkasiang.
The camp provided a range of essential eye care services, including eye examinations, vision testing, and the distribution of free medication and spectacles. Optometrists from Mission Nethralaya were on-site to assess vision health, identify eye conditions, and recommend follow-up care where needed.
This eye camp is part of NE-CCIE- IIM Shillong’s broader mission to foster inclusive and sustainable community development across Meghalaya and the North East through impactful engagement and partnership.
