Four individuals were felicitated by the Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong for their outstanding achievements.
The felicitation ceremony, held at Shillong Club yesterday, recognised the contributions of Aiboklang Paul Wanniang, a champion arm wrestler; Burt Reynold Nongrum, hairstylist; Darilin Jovita Masharing, singer and songwriter; and Pynnehbor Mylliemngap, a decorated martial artist who has won multiple medals for Meghalaya and India.
Rotarian Sanju Choudhury, former President of Centennial Rotary Club, Pocatello, Idaho, USA, Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong President Antony War, Secretary Abir Suchiang, members, and family members of the awardees were present on the occasion.
In his address, Choudhury commended the awardees for their dedication and excellence in their respective fields. He also applauded the Rotary Club for recognising and supporting local talents.
In a generous gesture, he donated a $1,000 cheque to the Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong to assist in the development of a healthcare facility at Jongksha.
