The Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Meghalaya conducted training for farmers of Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) of Mawshynrut C&RD Block on cultivation, propagation and management of orchids, succulent and ornamental plants.
Farmers were made acquainted with different types of plant species and their propagation methods, potting media and management of plants.
The activities related to the skill development of farmers and strengthening their capabilities through training and awareness were supported by the guidance and initiative of the IBSD Director Prof. Pulok K. Mukherjee to promote livelihood generation by using the local bio-resources and their sustainable utilisation.
IBSD Meghalaya is organising such activities to inculcate entrepreneurial skills among farmers and local people to gain exposure to earning avenues through the utilisation of local bio-resources in the prevailing Meghalaya environment.
