Despite Meghalaya facing financial crunch, the MDA government has left no stone unturned to accommodate leaders of its allies as chairmen and co-chairmen of various commissions and boards in the government.
Former FKJGP president Emlang Lyttan has been appointed as co-chairman of Meghalaya Economic Development Council (MEDC).
Lyttan who has joined the NPP will enjoy the perks and facilities under Category ‘A’.
Former KSU general secretary Auguster Jyrwa has been appointed as vice chairman of the council under Category ‘B’. Jyrwa is currently a member of the UDP.
Former Nongstoin MLA Macmillan Byrsat is also the co-chairman of MEDC. He will enjoy the perks and facilities under Category ‘A’.
MEDC is headed by NPP MLA Jimmy D. Sangma who was appointed under Category ‘A Plus’
NPP leader John F. Kharshiing has been appointed as co-chairman of the Meghalaya State Planning Board. Kharshiing will enjoy the perks and facilities of Category ‘A’.
It may be mentioned that State BJP president Ernest Mawrie, former MLA Nihim D. Shira and NPP leaders Donkupar War and Babeth Sangma are co-chairmen of the board. They also enjoy the perks and facilities under Category ‘A’.
Rayonald Kharkamni was appointed as vice chairman under Category ‘A’ while G G Bung Snaitang is the deputy chairman under Category ‘B’.
Meanwhile, former Umsning MLA Jason Mawlong has been appointed as co-chairman of Meghalaya Resource and Employment Generation Council (MREGC) under Category ‘A’.
Mawlai MDC Teibor Pathaw and Semford B. Sangma were appointed as co-chairman under Category ‘A’.
Donlang Sohkhlet and Erantis Sympli were appointed as vice chairmen of the MREGC.
Meanwhile, former Nongkrem MLA Lambor Malngiang was appointed as co-chairman of the Meghalaya State Law Commission under category ‘A’.
Pyndapborlang Nongsiej was appointed as vice-chairman of the commission under Category ‘A’ while Comet Star Kyndiah was appointed as vice-chairman under category ‘B’.
