The Meghalaya Veteran Table Tennis Association held its 5th Masters Team Championships on Saturday, with players from Jowai, Tura and Shillong taking part.
Seven teams, named according to environmental themes – Swachh Bharat, Save Fuel, Save Trees, Save Earth, Go Green, Save Water and Stay Fit – fought for the honours between themselves. This tournament was held to commemorate World Environment Day.
Team Save Earth, comprising H Singha, H Passah, A Kaushal, BP Joshi and A Nag, won the tournament, with Stay Fit (S Gareri, R Gogoi, B Chettri, M Francis and S Dkhar) the runners-up.
